A Discovery of Witches - Deborah Harkness 5* for the first half and 3* for the second

I had a difficult time rating this book. In the first half we get acquainted with a very strong minded heroine that transforms into a pathetic love-struck teenager later on. This is the only reason for the low rating in the second half. I tried not to linger so much on this because the writing style is exceptional and the historic facts presented are worth reading. It's been a long time since I read carefully through all the seemingly-meaningless descriptions of a story with enthusiasm.

The love story under no circumstances can be called "hot" but this is not necessarily a bad thing.

Overall a really nice book that gets extra points for being this long! With all the 250pages books out there that make me feel like reading a magazine, I can say that I finally read a real UF Book.
